The talent of Welland residents will be front and centre in the year to come as part of the city’s celebration of 150 years of being Canadian.
Members of the Canada’s 150th in Welland committee are finalizing plans to make 2017 a year to remember, including a search for some of the most talented people the city has to offer.
Committee vice-chairwoman Stephanie Hicks said “Canada Day will be our grand celebration,” adding the event will again be centred in Welland’s downtown core.
But there will be a lot of events surrounding the celebration, not only in recognition of Canada’s sesquicentennial but also Welland’s 100th anniversary of becoming a city.
